EDITORIAL POLICY
Standards for accurate and useful financial content
This policy describes how TradingChooser selects topics, checks claims, separates commercial relationships from editorial assessment and maintains published pages.
1. Purpose
TradingChooser publishes comparisons, reviews and educational material intended to help readers understand differences between online brokers, trading platforms and financial products. Content should answer a defined reader need rather than exist only to target a search term.
2. Scope and jurisdiction
Broker availability, regulatory entities, investor protections, products, risk warnings, taxes and charges can vary by country. Pages should state the relevant market, period and provider entity whenever these details affect the answer.
3. Sources
- Regulator registers and official authority publications.
- Provider legal documents, fee schedules, product disclosures and terms.
- Official platform documentation and account information.
- Original tests or observations, when they have actually been performed.
- Reputable secondary sources when interpretation or market context is needed.
A source must support the specific statement for which it is cited. A general reference to the same topic is not sufficient.
4. Facts, interpretation and opinion
Documented facts should be distinguished from editorial interpretation. Ratings, category winners and suitability statements must be linked to defined criteria rather than presented as universal conclusions.
5. Authors and reviewers
Each material page should identify the contributor responsible for the content. A reviewer should be named when a separate substantive review has taken place. Titles and biographies must not imply qualifications, licences or experience that cannot be verified.
6. Updates
A page should be marked as updated only after a meaningful check or revision. Changing the date, year or introduction without rechecking important data does not constitute a substantive update.
- Regulatory status and legal entity.
- Fees, minimum deposits and product availability.
- Risk warnings and loss percentages.
- Promotional terms and eligibility.
- Platform features, account conditions and support channels.
- Broken links and unavailable providers.
7. Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly after verification. Significant corrections may be recorded in a visible update note. Read the full Corrections Policy.
8. Commercial relationships
TradingChooser may receive compensation from certain providers. Affiliate relationships must be disclosed and must not be presented as proof that a broker is safe, suitable or superior. Read the Affiliate Disclosure.
9. Limitations
Editorial content is general information, not personal financial advice. A comparison cannot determine whether a product is appropriate for a particular reader without considering that person’s objectives, finances, experience and jurisdiction.
